Simple, free and easy steps to remove FBI Virus ?

When you start your computer and see that your computer is locked with a screen that says “ATTENTION! Your computer has been locked” and that notification is from Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), then your system is infected with FBI Virus. This locked screen demands 200$ from you to unlock your computer. You do not have to worry, you have not done any thing illegal, It is not really FBI It is only a malware by which your computer is infected. This virus also has the ability to access your installed webcam, so that the fake FBI notification shows what is happening in your room. This action make it more authentic. FBI virus locks the computer and, depending on the user’s current location, displays a localized webpage. This webpage covers the entire desktop of the infected computer and demands payment.

If your system is infected with FBI virus your system Windows registry has been modified and malicious files has been added to run at start-up. So when you start up your system your computer will launch bogus notification instead of Windows start screen.To remove these malicious changes, we can use any of the below mentioned methods :

Steps to Remove FBI Virus from Computer.

Method 1. Boot Computer in Safe Mode with Networking

First of all download this free malware  removal tools.

Some types of FBI virus allow computer to start in Safe Mode with Networking  and not displaying the bogus lock screen. We will try to start the computer in Safe Mode with Networking and then scan for virus to remove the malicious files.

Restart your computer. Press F8 key while your computer restart. Press it until you see Advance boot option as shown in below image.

On the Advanced Boot Options screen, select Safe Mode with Networking , and then press ENTER.

Now if you able to start your computer scan your computer with above mentioned downloaded anti-virus software. After scan complete you will able to see the list of infected files just remove it and restart your computer.

**If you are unable to start your computer in Safe Networking Mode please follow below mention method and remove FBI anti virus.**

Method 2. Restore Windows to previous Restore Point.

This method will return your computer system files and programs to a time when your computer was working in good condition and everything was working fine. So lets see how we can use this windows feature.

Restart your computer and press F8 while Windows start. Press F8 till you see Advance boot option as shown in below image.

 Select to start your computer in Safe mode with command prompt as shown in above image.

Now type cd restore in command prompt and press ENTER. 

Now type rstrui.exe , and then press ENTER.

Now type C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER.

You will see  System Restore utility will start, and you’ll need to select a restore point previous to this infection.

After System Restore you will able to restart your computer in normal mode. After you reboot your computer you have to scan your system with above mentioned anti-virus free tools.

If the nasty FBI virus did not allow you to restore your system at previous restore point follow below mention method.

Method 3: Use msconfig utility to remove FBI virus. 

If you didn’t have a restore point, we can use msconfig to remove it’s malicious start-up entry. FBI virus set its malicious files to start whenever your computer is booting.

Repeat the procedure to restart your computer in Safe mode with command prompt and type msconfig to start the Windows System Configuration utility.

Click on the Startup tab, then search for any suspicious or unknonw entries (random numbers or letters, ctfmon.exe, and other suspicious or unknown entries), and unckech them from startup, then click on OK.

Your this step will stop FBI virus to start up with windows start up. But it will not remove the FBI virus from your computer.

Now to restart your system just type shutdown/r and scan your system with free anti-virus tools.

Cyber criminals often updated the design of this lock screen, however you should always keep in mind that the Federal Bureau of Investigation will never lock down your computer or monitor your online activities. The message displayed by the threat can be localized depending on the user’s location, with text written in the appropriate language. The FBI virus is a scam, and you should ignore any alerts that this malicious software might generate. Under no circumstance should you send any MoneyPak code to these cyber criminals, and if you have, you can should request a refund, stating that you are the victim of a computer virus and scam.
